Naruto Ultimate ninja 4: If it had an "Unlock all characters and the option to automatically be their special form" code I would probably recommend this above all others for it's variety in characters and gameplay. Nothing is seriously broken, though Itachi's tsukuyomi is absolutely insane. This one is probably one of my favorites but that could just be nostalgia. There are several other "flavor" versions of characters such as nine tails naruto and anbu kakashi. These characters instead have the ability to spend chakra to get more powerful, their punches hit harder and are more likely to send their opponent flying. Most characters are unique though a few of them lack ultimate moves. Ultimate ninja 2: I haven't bothered with the missions or story because there is a cheatcode that lets you unlock everyone. They are basically stronger versions of themselves but with more damage and different moves. Both of which were originally transformations from their respective ultimate jutsu. You unlock cursemark sasuke and "ninetails" naruto. If you like masochism and completing things for the sake of compeleting them, then this is pretty ok. Most missions will require you to do some number of substitution jutsus and throws before finishing off your enemy, usually under a time limit or some condition like getting yourself or your enemy below a certain threshold of health. The mission mode will force you to master the game through repeated use of some of the game's more finicy mechanics. The last two characters are unlocked though the "mission" mode. The story mode is brief and unlocks all but two characters.

Plays like it's age, it could easily pass for a high end ps1 game.

They all have some form of mini collectables such as figurines, videos of moves, and art. The ultimate moves take you into a quick time event where you compete against your opponent in a sort of minigame. These moves do anything from an in battlefield rasengan, to counter attacks, to healing. You also have a few jutsu that you can use for less mana than a special attack that are usually activated with (up)(up) circle or (down)(down) circle. you have a button to throw stuff and a button to punch, there is also a button for charging up special attacks. I don't recommend any of these as "good games" if you want a really good naruto game I recommend the ultimate ninja STORM series if you have the stuff to run it.Īll of the ultimate ninja games are 2d fighters with a rather simple control scheme. Of the games that I've played for ps2: Ultimate ninja 1, 2, and 4 are worth mentioning.
